How Sponsorships work
Updated on 25 October 2026
How sponsors, each season's sponsorships and their renewals, the benefits the club promises and the payment instalments that feed income and the budget fit together.

The Sponsorships module keeps track of who supports the club, what was agreed each season, what the club promised in return and the money coming in. You'll find it all under Sponsorship Management in the side menu: "Sponsors", "Benefits" and "Communication". Tiers and benefit types are set up in Settings › Sponsorships.
Sponsor and sponsorship
- The sponsor is the company or organisation: name, tax ID, contacts, address, logo and notes. You create it once and it carries over from season to season.
- The sponsorship is the agreement with that sponsor for one season. It sets the "Type" ("Cash", "In kind" or "Mixed"), the value, the "Tier", whether it belongs to the club or to a team, the dates and the "Status".
A sponsor can have more than one sponsorship in the same season, for example one for the club and another for a team. You change the status by hand: "In negotiation", "Active", "Finished" or "Cancelled". Only "Active" and "Finished" count as contracted, both in the list's "Contracted this season" figure and for launching payments.
Renewals
When the agreement continues, "Renew" creates the sponsorship for another season from an existing one, with the same value, scope and tier. The new one starts "In negotiation", with no dates of its own and no signed contract, and stays linked to the previous one: in the sponsor's list of sponsorships it carries the "Renewal" tag. Benefits and the instalment plan don't carry over.
Benefits
Benefits are what the club promised in return: the logo on the kit, social media posts, tickets. Each has a type from the catalogue, a quantity and, optionally, a deadline; without one, the end of the sponsorship applies. As the club delivers, you record each delivery, and the status moves to "In progress" and then "Fulfilled". A benefit still not delivered after its deadline is "Overdue"; delivered late, it still counts as "Fulfilled". Benefits shows them for every sponsor.
Payments, income and the budget
A sponsorship's money follows an instalment plan, in the sponsorship's "Instalments" tab: for example €6,000 in three instalments, in September, January and April.
- Until you launch it, an instalment is "Planned", and a planned instalment is never overdue.
- "Launch instalments" turns each instalment not yet launched into an income entry in Income, awaiting payment, with the sponsorship's income category and VAT. The instalment becomes "Launched".
- Once you record that income as received, the instalment becomes "Received". If the date passes without payment, it becomes "Overdue".
Received income goes into the actuals of the season's Budget on its own, like any other income. The module writes nothing to the budget itself.
