Moving an athlete to another team

When an athlete moves to another team during the season, for example because they move up an age group, you change the enrolment they already have. You can only do this within the same season and the same sport.

Change the team

  1. In Athletes, open the athlete's record.
  2. On the athlete card, in the season and team selector, pick the enrolment you want to move.
  3. Select "Sporting seasons" and choose "Change team".
  4. Under "Team", choose the new team. Only the other teams of the same sport that have a record in that season are listed. If your access is limited to some teams, the change is only accepted when both teams are yours.
  5. Select "Change team".

The whole enrolment moves: the shirt number, position, enrolment date and status go with it. The athlete leaves the old team's squad without a trace and appears in the new one. The administrative record (competition registration and contract) belongs to the season, so it does not change.

What happens to the charges

Each charge stays linked to the team it was raised for, and moving the enrolment does not take it to the new team. This has three consequences worth knowing:

  • The "Finance" tab of the athlete record shows only the charges of the selected team. After the move, the old team's charges no longer appear there. They are not lost: to see the whole account, open the person in Members and go to the "Finance" tab of the member record.
  • The old team's charges for the following months stay unpaid and follow their normal course, including the automatic issuing of payment notices if you have it switched on. If you later archive the athlete and they are left with no active team that season, the archive dialog offers to cancel these charges too.
  • A fee series of the new team knows nothing about the old team's charges. When you launch it, the athlete gets the periods from the month of their enrolment date, including those already charged by the other team, and ends up with duplicate fees.
