Evaluating an athlete

Updated on 22 October 2026

On this page · 4 sections

An evaluation rates the athlete on a grid of areas (technique or tactics, for example) and, within each area, attributes, scored from 0 to 10. You do not need the Scouting module: evaluating your own athletes works without it.

Before you start: the criteria

Areas and attributes belong to the sport. Set them up in Settings › Sports, in the "Evaluation" section, with "Add area" and "Add attribute". Until the sport has criteria, the evaluation opens empty.

Creating an evaluation

  1. Open the athlete's profile from Athletes and go to the "Evaluations" tab.
  2. Check the season and team in the selector at the top of the profile: the evaluation is filed under that season.
  3. Click "Add new evaluation". The evaluation opens straight away, with today's date and your name as "Evaluator".
  4. In each area, pick the "Score" for each attribute. Leave anything you did not assess without a score.
  5. If you wish, write the "Observations" for each area.
  6. In "Evaluation information", check the "Date" and "Evaluator" and, if you wish, fill in "Key strengths", "Areas to improve" and "Final assessment".

There is no save button: each score is saved as you pick it, and each text when you leave the field. Click "Back" when you have finished.

The averages

  • The "Area average" is the average of the scores of that area's attributes.
  • The "Overall average" is the average of every score given in the evaluation, whatever the area.
  • Scores of attributes (or areas) archived later do not count in the averages, in the progress chart or in the printout. If you reactivate the attribute, they count again.
  • Attributes without a score are left out. The top of the evaluation shows how many attributes have been scored.

The averages are worked out on the spot from the scores: change a score and the averages change with it.

Following progress

In the "Evaluations" tab, the "Sporting performance" card shows the latest evaluation's average, the difference from the previous one and the "Progress this season" chart. In the list, each evaluation has "Open", "Print" and "Delete".
