Departments and rubrics
Updated on 22 October 2026
Two ways to organise the club's money: by area, with departments, and by nature, with rubrics.

Departments and rubrics organise the club's accounts in two ways. A department says which area a transaction belongs to: the youth section, the senior teams, the clubhouse. A rubric says what it is: athletes, members, transport, sports equipment. You find both in Financial Management, under "Structure".
Departments
- Open Financial management › Departments and select "New department".
- Enter the "Name", for example Youth. It is the only required field. Use "Notes" to explain what belongs there.
- Switch on "Default department" if you want it preselected when you record expenses and income. Only one department carries this mark: marking another removes it from the previous one.
- Select "Save".
You choose the department when you record Expenses and Income, and you can use it as a filter in those lists.
Rubrics
Rubrics are the first level of the chart of accounts. Each one has a nature, "Income" or "Expense", and groups the categories of that nature. A new club already comes with a list of rubrics: adjust it to suit your club.
- Open Financial management › Rubrics and select "New rubric".
- Enter the "Name" and choose the "Nature".
- Select "Save".
